Wow! Sunscreen helps psoriasis.

My friend,  who is  the  owner of SunBuddy Sunscreen in Golden, Missouri, was talking to me about one of her customers telling her that they used her sunscreen on their psoriasis and it improved.  Having lived with outbreaks of psoriasis since I was a child, I’ve tried all sorts of remedies.  Tar shampoos, Tea Tree shampoos, gels, lotions, creams, potions, with pretty limited success.  I got a sample of the sunscreen, put it on my psoriasis and poof…overnight, the skin looked healthier and itched less!  So, what’s the secret?  The sunscreen’s active ingredient is micronized zinc oxide.  Apparently, many psoriasis sufferers are deficient in zinc (Balch, Prescription for Natural Cures)…and apparently topical zinc oxide is helpful in healing the rash.  I’m not the first one to notice this…once I started searching, there are a number of articles online regarding the use of zinc-oxide containing products for eczema and psoriasis.  I’m so glad I found this out.  It’s relatively inexpensive, made with all-natural ingredients, and protects from sunburn, too!  My husband loves the single-use packets for taking along on his motorcycle trips.   So, now that I’m a believer, look for Sunbuddy Sunscreen in the retail section at Ancient Paths in the near future!
